COVID-19 Safety Measures
The health and safety of all DACC attendees remains our top priority. We are closely monitoring mandates and policy changes as well as local and venue guidelines, and public health announcements. As information pertaining to COVID-19 continues to develop, we will keep you up to date with new developments to enure a coordinated effort and safe environment for all DACC attendees.
COVID-19 Vaccinations
The State of Texas and Dallas County do not require proof of vaccination to enter public indoor locations, nor are face masks mandated. However, both vaccinations and use of masks while indoors is strongly encouraged.
Face Coverings & Hand Sanitizers
The State of Texas and Dallas County no longer require anyone to wear a face mask while in public indoor settings. Masks are encouraged, especially if you are un-vaccinated or high-risk, but are not mandated. We also encourage observing good hand hygiene while at the conference. A limited number of disposable face masks and hand sanitizers will be available at the check-in tables.
Screening
Conference attendees should refrain from attending any session if they are not feeling well. To mitigate the spread, a limited number of rapid tests will be available to those who feel unwell or suspect COVID-19 infection. We ask all attendees, including speakers and poster presenters, to conduct a self-wellness check prior to attending DACC sessions - this includes assessing the following:
- In the past 24 hours, have you experienced COVID-19 symptoms?
- Have you or people whom you have close contact with (roommate, relative, friend, coworker) tested positive in the last 14 days or have had any COVID-19 symptoms in the last 14 days?
If your answer is yes to any of these questions, we ask you refrain from participating in any of the conference's activities and contact CVL staff to receive a rapid test, if available, or be directed to the nearest testing facility.
During your attendance to the Dallas Aging & Cognition Conference you will be asked to support our COVID-19 Safety Measures and follow adequate policies & procedures. These policies and procedures may be modified at any time in advance of or during DACC.
