Wednesday, August 12, 2026 6:30pm to 8pm
Presented by the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at The University of Texas at Dallas, the oldest endowed lecture series on campus returns with an exploration into tomorrow's technology.
The rapidly advancing field of quantum technology has the potential to reshape our society in the coming decades—in ways we can predict and in ways we cannot. How will we navigate this massive shift?
Join us for an enlightening presentation by Dr. David Awschalom, the Liew Family Professor, Director of the Chicago Quantum Institute, and Chief Science Officer of the Department of Energy’s Q-NEXT center. Dr. Awschalom will bridge the gap between complex physics and everyday life. He will share how his pioneering research in spintronics is building tomorrow's super-secure networks and ultra-fast computers. Whether you want to understand its impact on global financial security, its potential to accelerate life-saving drug discoveries, or the hundreds of thousands of diverse new jobs it could create by 2035, this event will give you a clear map of the future.
This event is free and open to students, researchers, faculty, and the general public. Registration is encouraged to help us ensure a great experience for everyone. Walk-ins are fully welcome! Please join us even if you do not register in advance. Seating remains first-come, first-served, so we recommend arriving early. Doors will open at 6pm.
We look forward to seeing you at this very special 2026 Anson L. Clark Memorial Lecture!
