The BRIGHT Leaders platform understands the complex village it takes to make our university work and respects the role of all employees and positions. With this in mind, we invite you to join us for the Spotlight on Staff (SOS) series.

The SOS series spotlights the great work that our staff do behind the scenes of UTD schools and divisions. This series gives our campus community an opportunity to find out more about how each featured department contributes in serving our campus needs.

The Office of Sustainability was established under Facilities Management in 2011. They define sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

The Office of Sustainability’s mission is to engage the UT Dallas community as a catalyst and champion for environmental stewardship and social responsibility while fostering a culture of sustainability evident in all aspects of the campus experience including operations, engagement, academics, and policy. They believe that sustainability is a collaborative field to which all members of the UT Dallas community contribute. The Office of Sustainability collaborates with stakeholders and students across The University to facilitate the integration of sustainability principles and practices into all areas of The University of Texas at Dallas.
