About the Curator
Tara Lyon is a multimedia artist living in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in Texas. She is a practitioner of photography, video, performance, and creative writing with a focus on American popular culture critique. Her primary thematic and scholarly concerns are post-apocalyptic aesthetics, representation, the Anthropocene, and the “American Dream.”
Lyon is from the small farming town of Moravia in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York. She graduated from the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York earning a degree in Media Studies with a focus on video art production. Lyon’s next academic effort at Arizona State University is where she earned a MAS in Media Studies while cultivating a love of creative writing and cinema history. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Visual and Performing Arts from the University of Texas, Dallas
