Conference Preparation Series: Mock Presentations

Need a little practice and feedback for your upcoming conference presentation? Sign up* for a chance to practice giving your presentation to a live audience, field questions, and receive feedback and advice from experienced conference-goers and presenters. This event is designed to simulate a conference presentation and give you a chance to try your presentation out on a real audience in a conference-like setting.
To participate, you'll need a slide deck (like a PowerPoint) or a poster prepared from your research. Presenters with slide decks should prepare a presentation of no more than fifteen (15) minutes, and presenters with posters should prepare a presentation of no more than five (5) minutes. All presenters should be prepared to answer questions at the end of their presentations.

*Completing the registration form is a request to be placed with a group of presenters and an audience to practice your conference presentation. Placements depend upon the availability of participants and volunteers. We can't guarantee that we will be able to place you in a group, but the more availability you provide, the more likely it is that you will get a slot.
This workshop is part of a series entitled "Conference Preparation," designed to help you get ready for your next conference presentation. We'll walk you through writing the abstract, deciding what presentation format best fits your research, and turning your research into a fantastic presentation. You'll also get to hear about public speaking and professionalism, and you'll have the opportunity to practice presenting your research in front of a live audience.
