 p.m.\nGallery 5\n\nPercussionists Drew Lang and Roland Muzquiz perform the
  graphic music notation designed by the artists Sara Dittrich and SV Randa
 ll\, accompanying the video installation in the Crow’s New Media Gallery
 . Using the marimba and other percussive effect instruments\, this experim
 ental music score interprets visual and environmental data collected by th
 e artists across areas of the Tularosa Basin in the southwestern United St
 ates—geographies historically associated with extreme atmospheric phenom
 ena. Following the performance will be a Q&A with the artists.\n\nPlease n
 ote: The performance is 15 minutes long and will start promptly at 1:00 p.
 m. Space is limited. First come\, first served.\n\nDrew Lang has commissio
 ned and premiered works for marimba in solo\, chamber and concerto setting
 s. He is a member of the Dallas Opera Orchestra\, principal mallet player 
 with the Dallas Wind Symphony and percussionist for Casa Mañana Musicals 
 and Broadway Dallas. Lang is on the percussion faculties at Southern Metho
 dist University and runs MARIMBA MADNESS summer percussion camp.\n\nRoland
  Muzquiz is Percussion Director for Richardson High School. Along with thi
 s position\, Mr. Muzquiz also serves as Principal Percussionist with the D
 allas Wind Symphony and the East Texas Symphony Orchestra. He has also per
 formed with the Dallas Opera\, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra\, the Plano S
 ymphony Orchestra\, the Richardson Symphony Orchestra\, Texas Chamber Orch
 estra\, Ft. Worth-Dallas Ballet\, Ballet Arlington\, Dallas Chamber Orches
 tra\, Texas Wind Symphony\, The Turtle Creek Chorale\, and the San Antonio
  Symphony Orchestra.\n\nSara Dittrich is a Baltimore-based interdisciplina
 ry artist. Her artworks include sculpture\, prints\, video\, and interacti
 ve installations with biometric sensors\, and data-driven performance. Oft
 en informed by residencies and travel\, such projects have included time-l
 apse imaging of landscapes\, local skies and tidal patterns\, and the soma
 tic effects of time and a place on the body. Dittrich’s work has been ex
 hibited with venues such as the Baltimore Museum of Art\, The Sculpture Ce
 nter (Cleveland\, OH)\, and DiverseWorks (Houston\, TX).\n\nSV Randall is 
 an interdisciplinary artist\, working with sculpture\, installation\, pain
 ting\, and performance. Randall addresses the various ways in which object
 s mutate in nature and function across time. His work has been exhibited a
 t venues such as David & Schweitzer Contemporary (Brooklyn\, NY)\, the Ric
 hard and Dolly Maass Gallery (Purchase\, NY)\, and the Villa Romana Palazz
 i di Casignana (Italy). He is currently an Assistant Professor of Visual a
 nd Performing Arts at the University of Texas at Dallas.\n\nHindi and Urdu
  Story time \n1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.\nSeminar Room\n\nJoin GEM Academy & Cent
 er for a story time for families featuring stories\, songs\, and movement 
 in Hindi and Urdu.\n\nThen\, experience the rhythm of tradition in a hands
