In this moving documentary, historians trace how the social freedoms of 1920s Germany gave way to the Nazis' persecution of LGBT people. The Galerstein Gender Center, Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology, and the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies are partnering to screen the 2023 Netflix documentary, Eldorado: Everything the Nazis Hate, which tells the story of how a nightclub in 1920s Berlin became a haven for the queer community and explores the freedoms lost amid Hitler’s rise to power.
