EODIAH Workshop Talk: Please join the Edith O’Donnell Institute of Art History for “Mapping the Margins: Envisioning a Digital Database of the Lives and Worlds of Eunuchs,” a workshop talk given by Drs. Emma Kalb and Ali Asgar Alibhai.
The project explores how eunuchs were central both to the social life of elite households, particularly as mediators of interaction and access, as well as occasionally high-ranking imperial servitors whose lives speak to the complex incorporation of castrated slaves into the ranks of the Mughal elite. Please join us for lively discussion as these two scholars a new digital humanities project on documenting and mapping the lives and works of eunuchs in the premodern world.
This talk will take place on January 19th at 4pm, in ATC 1.201. This event is free and open to the public, but does require an RSVP: Heather.Bowling@UTDallas.edu
