Virtual Event
UTDCS is thrilled to offer FREE virtual coding sessions during the first 3 days of Thanksgiving break. These sessions are made possible by a grant from State Farm. Please consider contributing any amount to support our programs and enable us to offer more programs in the future ( http://bit.ly/payutd for easy process, http://bit.ly/pay2csutd for tax-exempt gifts)
While MS Teams web version should work, MS Teams app gives a better experience - you can download it from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app. If you have 2 computers (OR connect the computer to TV), it will make the sessions more enjoyable!
Here is the listing of sessions with the meeting room links:
10-11 am - Animations with MIT Scratch - 2nd grade & up
https://utd.link/scratch-t21
11am-12noon - Micro:bit projects - 2nd grade & up
https://utd.link/mbit-t21
12 noon-1pm 3D animations with Alice - 5th grade & up https://utd.link/alice-t21
1-2 pm - Hands-on coding with JavaScript - 6th grade & up - https://utd.link/js-t21
2-3 pm - Web page design - 6th grade & up https://utd.link/web-t21
3-4 pm - Problem Solving in Python - 8th grade & up https://utd.link/py-t21
4-5 pm - AP CS (Java) review - 9th grade & up
https://utd.link/java-t21
While such open sessions are a great way to get introduced to coding, it cannot be tailored to individual needs & pace may be bit slow or fast. While we don't expect to hit MS team virtual room capacity (250 or so), it can happen if too many students show up.
If you would like to learn at your own pace & schedule, you can consider private tutoring - details @ https://k12.utdallas.edu/custom
