Comet Calendar

As part of the Identification and Recruitment pillar of the ASPIRE2: Adapting Successful Practices to foster an Inclusive, Respectful, and Equitable Environment project, the Future Faculty Identification Program (FFIP) focuses on identifying and encouraging STEM graduate students and postdoctoral fellows nationwide – particularly women and women in underrepresented minority groups - to consider faculty positions at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas).  The ASPIRE2 Identification and Recruitment committee will be hosting a two-day future faculty workshop to introduce prospective candidates to the UT Dallas campus, explain the faculty recruitment process, and share expectations for the tenure/tenure track process. Attendees will interact with UT Dallas junior and senior faculty to receive invaluable advice on how to navigate successful careers in academia.

Eligibility and Criteria:

We encourage applications from graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from groups traditionally underrepresented in their discipline.

We are seeking applicants that are:

  • Senior graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, or research scientists within 1-3 years of applying for a faculty position.
  • Have goals to enter the professoriate and conduct research that synergizes with UT Dallas’ Schools of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Brain and Behavior Sciences, and/or Engineering and Computer Science.
  • Can demonstrate desire to contribute to UT Dallas’ culture of diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
