Speaker: Gabrielle O’Brien, PhD

Title: What Happens When Biomedical Scientists Adopt Data Science Techniques?
Speaker Bio: Dr. O’Brien has broad research interests in computational neuroscience with specific expertise in biophysical and statistical modeling, speech and hearing, and public health data analytics. In addition to her academic career, she has worked as a data scientist at Iterative.ai, where she co-developed open-source software to promote sustainable research data management, code sharing, version control, and automated code validation. Her current research at Michigan focuses on developing methods, standards, and educational resources for anyone who works with data, a pertinent topic in today’s science and funding landscape that is broadly applicable across the BBS departments.
