Graduate Student Speaker Series: Isai Del Bosque, PhD Student in History of Ideas

Thursday, March 24 at 12:00pm

JO 4.122 and on Teams, JO 4.122 and on Teams

Please mark your calendars for this Graduate Student Speaker Series event.

On Thursday, March 24th at 12pm, we welcome Isai Del Bosque.

Isai del Bosque is a Teaching Assistant and Doctoral Candidate in the History of Ideas with a broad interest in ethics, Jewish and Continental thought—particularly that of Emmanuel Levinas. Isai is under the direction of Dr. David Patterson and his dissertation focuses on Antisemitism and Totalitarianism as an ethical rather than ontological question. In the summer of 2019, he received an invitation to St. John’s College at Oxford University as a Scholar-in-Residence to study Antisemitism. His interest is in how Levinas’s post-Holocaust thought uses phenomenology and Jewish tradition to re-articulate ethics and subjectivity.

The title of his presentation is: ‘Antisemitism and Totalitarianism.'

Isai will be introduced by his dissertation supervisor, Dr. David Patterson.

This hybrid event will take place in-person in JO 4.122 and on Teams.

We look forward to seeing you there!
