Speaker: Zeno Huang, CUNY

Title: Recent results on minimal surfaces in hyperbolic three-manifolds

Abstract: Closed geodesics play a central role in the study of hyperbolic surfaces and their moduli spaces. Moving to one dimension higher, the study of closed minimal surfaces in hyperbolic three-manifolds has attracted a lot of attention lately. In this talk we will discuss some old and recent results in several aspects of the theory.
