The Hispanx/Latinx Film Festival will run from Monday, March 20 to Wednesday, March 22!

Days 1 and 2: virtual (read about days 1 and 2)

Day 3: outside Jonsson Performance Hall and in JO 3.516

On March 22, the festivities will begin at 4:00 p.m. outside of Jonsson Performance Hall with live music by the Bass Junkies, fresh grilled tacos from the Taco Taxi, signature mezcal concoctions by Zunte Spirits, pop-up tents with community guests, and film-snack-fanfare offerings of popcorn and cotton candy. This will all take place at the steps in front of Jonsson Performance Hall. This event is free to the public and will incorporate introductions and brief presentations by our Latin American Studies and Film Studies affiliated faculty.

Then, join us at 5:30 p.m. in JO 3.516, where the film festival will conclude with two award-winning films being showcased back-to-back:

  • Elena (Dominican Republic), directed by Michèle Stephenson
  • Alice Junior (Brazil), directed by Gil Baroni
