Each year ASIFA (Association International du Film d’Animation) celebrates the birth of animation, recognized as the first public performance of projected moving images: Émile Reynaud’s Theatre Optique in Paris, in 1892.
This year, our in-person screening on campus will showcase a selection of the Best Short Animations awarded at the 2023 Annecy International Animation Festival.
September 27: Screening of Best Short Animations from the Annecy International Animation Festival 2023 (not appropriate for children). 75-minute-long program.
September 28: Screening of Best Short Animations for KIDS from the Annecy International Animation Festival 2023. 65-minute-long program.
Screenings start at 4:30 p.m. on both days in the Jonsson Performance Hall.
