Title - Is Confidence a Good Indicator of Face-Identification Accuracy? Findings From a Confidence Forced-Choice Task

In legal practices, the level of confidence expressed by a witness is used to evaluate the accuracy of their face identification. This study employs a novel paradigm to examine face-identification confidence. Results suggest that people reliably evaluate the correctness of their identification decisions and use item difficulty information to guide their confidence.
