Virtual Event
Joy and Curiosity in Learning: Short Lessons from a Bright and Curious Little Dog
presented by Dr. Barbara Shipman, Associate Professor and Distinguished Teaching Professor at The University of Texas at Arlington, Department of Mathematics
This webinar is in honor of a wise and lively little dachshund, Hansel. Hansel will share with us short lessons on excellent teaching from his long, happy, and adventurous life. He will help us to approach learning with joyful curiosity, a courageous spirit, and eager anticipation, and he will help us to cultivate in ourselves and in our students a bright and perceptive way of looking at things, a delightful savoring of what we are learning, and a peaceful presence for enjoying it fully. We will take about ten minutes for each short lesson and hear thoughts and ideas from the audience on each of them!
