JSOM - Avoiding Employment Scams

According to the UT Dallas Police Department, "This past year, persons affiliated with UT Dallas have lost almost $50,000 to scam artists." Employment scammers often target college students looking for internships and full-time jobs. By giving out your personal information, you open yourself to the risk of identify theft,  significant monetary losses, and more. We will show you examples of how scam artists will pose as employers, how to avoid them, and what steps to take if you feel you've been a victim.
