Students, faculty, staff, and community members are welcome to come celebrate Juneteenth at UT Dallas! This is a community event that will feature a free dinner from Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse, trivia, and a live DJ. The event will also include a health and wellness fair hosted by the Student Wellness Center featuring both on- and off-campus partners. No RSVP required!
Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free.
