Lab to Launch: CerSci Therapeutics, A Founder's Story

Bryan Chambers, Adjunct Professor in Entrepreneurship, JSOM-UTD, and VP of Accelerator and Investment Fund, Capital Factory, will host this second season of "Lab to Launch" - an online series for researchers interested in pursuing entrepreneurship.  Bryan has spent his career working with and investing in venture-backed startups, so naturally this season of "Lab to Launch" will focus on providing "Rocket Fuel for Your Fundraising Strategy."  Register to join us for some 1:1 chats with successful research-focused entrepreneurs and our last session this season will feature a panel of investors.

  • ABSTRACT: Join host Bryan Chambers as he sits down with Dr. Ted Price, co-founder of CerSci Therapeutics - currently in the news for the multi-million dollar acquisition by ACADIA Pharma. Dr. Price will discuss how CerSci began with a conversation in the hallway, how they acquired technology that became a key project for them, how they were repeatedly turned down by investors, and much more. 
  • BIO: Theodore (Ted) Price is the Eugene McDermott Professor and Director of the Center for Advanced Pain Studies at University of Texas (UT) at Dallas. He did his PhD with Chris Flores and Ken Hargreaves at UT Health San Antonio and postdoctoral work at McGill University with Fernando Cervero. He has won numerous awards including The Patrick D. Wall Young Investigator Award from IASP. Ted has published more than 100 peer reviewed studies, has been continuously funded by NIH for more than 10 years, and is a standing member of the Somatosensory and Pain Study Section for NIH. He is co-founder of CerSci Therapeutics, Ted’s Brain Science Products and 4E Therapeutics.

Join us as we continue the conversation with our speakers in a more relaxed setting.  This additional time will be hosted in a MS Teams Meeting, allowing you to ask questions directly and engage in further conversation face-to-face after each "Lab to Launch" presentation.  Booster Sessions will immediately follow each "Lab to Launch" session from approximately 12:45-1:15 PM.
