What do Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Queen Victoria, Salvador Dali, Babe Ruth, Florence Nightingale, Madame Curie, George Washington Carver and Marilyn Monroe all have in common with Icelandic volcanoes, bald eagles, rocket ships, voting rights for women and the Rocky Mountains? They all appear on postage stamps! In fact, postage stamps have been telling the stories of our world since 1840. In this era of electronics and instant communication, the rich tapestry of postage stamp images reconnects us to our humanity and the physical world. This special presentation will reveal some surprising secrets and prove there’s more than meets the eye.
