Ensuring your dissertation or thesis is accessible isn’t just a formatting requirement—it’s an essential part of creating inclusive, barrier free scholarship. This workshop introduces graduate students to the key accessibility standards and best practices required for theses and dissertations, including those related to document structure, heading organization, alternative text for images, tables, color contrast, and PDF accessibility.
Participants will learn how to identify common accessibility issues, use built‑in tools in Word and PDF editors to correct them, and prepare a final document that meets university and federal accessibility guidelines. The session will include demonstrations, hands‑on practice, and practical checklists students can use while preparing their manuscripts.
Ideal for graduate students at any stage of writing—whether you’re just beginning your manuscript or making final edits before submission.
