Join Meteor Theater for a Cosmic Film Workshop examining introductory film analysis as it relates to queer cinema, genre, and some of history's most iconic films. Films to be discussed include Brokeback Mountain, Captain America: Civil War, Chicago, Fear Street, Funny Face, The Matrix, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and Tangerine.
About the Speaker:
Brecken Hunter Wellborn (he/him) is a film studies teaching associate with the School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology at UTD. His research focuses on the intersection of genre, gender, and sexuality. He holds a Master of Arts in Critical/Cultural Film Studies from the University of North Texas and writes film and television criticism for Collider.

Who is Meteor Theater?
Meteor Theater is a student-run movie program that screens popular movies on campus throughout the school year. It includes the Cosmic Film Festival and Cosmic Film Workshops, held each spring to encourage an interest and appreciation of student-created original movies and short films.
