UT Dallas acknowledges the contributions and achievements made by the members of our armed forces.
Students graduating from UT Dallas who serve or have served in the U.S. military, or who will be commissioned through R.O.T.C., are invited to wear a special red, white, & blue honor cord at fall and spring commencements. If you are graduating this May (or August), you and your guests are invited to attend a ceremony to honor your military service and recognize your academic achievement.
The MVC will verify proof of military service. Veterans that are receiving federal benefits (GI Bill) or state benefits (Hazlewood) already have this information on file with UT Dallas. Other veterans must present to the MVC one of the following: military ID or DD-214. R.O.T.C. cadets will be verified by their units at UTA and UNT.

PAVE Peer Advisors, Student Veterans of America (SVA) Officers, SALUTE National Honor Society Inductees

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for an optional Tex-Mex buffet for graduates awardees and their guests.
Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Cake reception to follow.
Cords and awards will be available at the Military and Veteran Center (SSA 14.250) beginning May 8th for student veterans who are unable to attend the ceremony.
