Navigating Sites and Spaces: Reclaiming Agency through Material, Movement, and Media

Parul Bhatia MFA Thesis Exhibition

This MFA thesis exhibition presents an immersive, multimedia installation exploring absence, memory, and self-autonomy through material, movement, and media. Working across performance, photography, video, material installations, and sculptural forms, the exhibition examines how bodily gestures, material imprints, and encounters with space function as sites of transformation. Drawing from personal memory, ritual, and ecological relationships, the work invites viewers into a contemplative environment where presence and absence coexist, and where material processes become pathways for reclaiming agency and belonging.

Parul Bhatia’s MFA thesis exhibition at SP/N Gallery has been supported in part by Center for Asian Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas.
