This seminar will take place on Friday Nov. 5th (Speaker: Prof. Tracy McGill, Professor of Pedagogy, Emory University) and be delivered in person. This seminar will be live-streamed via MS Teams. The link can be provided upon request (please contact Dr. Gabriele Meloni at gabriele.meloni@utdallas.edu).
Seminar title: The Role of Timing, People, and Persistence in Curricular Transformation
Abstract: Acknowledging the limitations of traditional curricula and pedagogy, this seminar will describe the process of designing implementing, and assessing a new four-year curriculum at Emory University. The major goals of this reform effort include an emphasis on core ideas and scientific practices rather than content and historical course boundaries in order to convey the excitement, relevance, and interdisciplinary nature of 21st century chemistry to undergraduate students.
Follow us on Comet Calendar for more information about our seminar series. Enjoy it!
