Thriving in Academia: Building a Teaching-Focused Career

Join us for a discussion of the 2022 book, “Thriving in Academia: Building a Career at a Teaching-Focused Institution,” by Ansburg, Basham, and Gurung. The e-book is available from the McDermott Library, https://utdallas.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01UT_DALLAS/2hgl0t/alma9928072256601421. Participants are welcome, but not required, to read some or all of the book before we meet. We will discuss building a career at an R1 institution and the particular challenges and advantages faced by nontenure-system faculty and share recommendations for proactive strategies to shape a rewarding and fulfilling teaching career.
Participation in this workshop fulfills part of the requirements of the Graduate Teaching Certificates.
