The Comer Collection and Special Collections present, Throughlines, a selection of photographs from the Comer Collection of Photography paired with artist's books.
Throughlines, features student work from Dr. Diane Durant’s ARTS 4308: Image/Text—Artist’s Books course. Dr. Durant, Professor of Instruction at BASS and Director of the Comer Collection of Photography, challenged students to create artist books or zines inspired solely by the title of a photograph from the collection, without ever seeing the image itself.
The resulting works explore connections between language, imagination, and visual interpretation, and are displayed alongside their photographic counterparts.
Visit the gallery Monday through Friday, 8 AM–5 PM. The exhibition runs through August 28.
