Virtual Event
This symposium will introduce the “Atlas of Global Media” project, an open access collection featuring short essays that introduce significant, albeit lesser-known, media texts for studying global, regional, or transnational issues. In addition to its intellectual contributions, we also intend this project to serve as a pedagogical resource to support media instructors seeking to expand and diversify the roster of texts taught in their classes.
The symposium will be structured as a workshop for contributors to introduce their respective media text and analysis and to receive feedback from their peers. We welcome the thoughtful and generous participation of media and visual culture scholars with a range of region- and medium-specific expertises. Your attendance and active engagement with the works presented would be invaluable as we continue to shape this project.
