Virtual Event
Matt Makowka of the Eugene McDermott Library will present a how-to workshop on the h-index, a metric commonly used to ascertain an author’s or a researcher’s publishing impact. We will define what an h-index is, explore its pros and cons, and demonstrate how to calculate it using library resources (SCOPUS and Web of Science) and Google Scholar.
The presentation will take place on MS Teams, and it should run 30 to 35 minutes. There will be ample time following the presentation for Q&A. All UTD students, staff, and faculty are welcome to attend. We strongly encourage anyone who works with bibliometrics or is new to h-indexes to attend.
