UT Dallas acknowledges the contributions made by the members of our armed services.

Students graduating from UT Dallas who serve or have served in the U.S. military, or who will be commissioned through R.O.T.C., are invited to wear a special red, white & blue honor cord at fall and spring commencements.  If you are graduating this December, or graduated in 2020 or ealier this year in May or August, you and your guests are invited to attend a ceremony to honor your military service and recognize your academic achievement.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Ceremony at 6:30 p.m.

The MVC will verify proof of military service. Veterans that are receiving federal benefits (GI Bill) or state benefits (Hazlewood) already have this information on file with UT Dallas. Other veterans must present to the MVC one of the following: military ID or DD-214. R.O.T.C. students will be verified by their units at UTA or UNT.

Cords will be available at the Military and Veteran Center (SSA 14.250) the week of December 13th for graduating student veterans who are unable to attend the ceremony.
