The University of Texas at Dallas has a premiere chess program in the United States. Its chess team has won numerous national and international titles including the University in the Pan American Intercollegiate Championship and the Final Four of Chess. This summer, your child will have the opportunity to learn from leaders of this storied chess program.

 

Camp instructors

Grandmaster Julio Sadorra- Head Coach of UTD chess team

Candidate Master Tim Steiner- 20+ years coaching experience

Chess Team Members

 

Camp open to 8-17 years of age. 

Camp will feature GM-simul, lectures, tournaments, chess trivia game, puzzle competitions and more!

Small class sizes.  No more than 10 players per coach.

Beginner Classes

  • Have never been introduced to the moves/pieces or
  • Know how some pieces move but not all

Advanced/Intermediate Classes

  • Must know rules of chess
  • Online, pre-camp assessment will determine which of the two groups

Schedule – Monday through Friday

                        45 min lesson

                        10 min break

                        45 min gamified skills activity

                        45 min sparring matches

Cost

Register on or Before April 3rd: $165

Register from April 4th – June 5th: $185

Register after June 6th: $195
